The chart illustrates the proportion of academic team members by gender from different faculties of major university in 2016. Overall, the percentage of male employees are higher rather than female employees. The total proportion of male team in engineering are at the top of the percentage, while the percentage of female team in engineering is the lowest from all majors in university.
According to the chart, there are seven major in university dominated by male staff. In engineering major the comparison is far apart, for 85% of male and 18% of female team. In business and science major, it shows almost similar data for 62% for male member and 38% of female member in science and 3% below in business major. Law major shows 20% different percentage with male higher than female by 60% of staff.
For the arts, education and medicine major shows that it is dominated by female. Lead by education for 72% of female staff, meanwhile the male team only one third of female. Followed by arts for 58% female member and 16% below is the percentage of arts staff. Even in medicine major the female staff percentage is higher for 50% rather than male staff that is shows only 1% below different.
