The bar chart illustrates the changes in the proportion of people visiting the cinema across various weekdays in a specific European country for the years 2003, 2005 and 2007.
As the chart shows, while there was a notable decline in the percentage of movie-goers on Wednesday, the figures for the remaining weekdays demonstrated a relatively minor fluctuation across the three years. In addition, people in this country visited the cinema the most on weekends.
In 2003, cinema attendance on Monday was recorded at 10%,which was just one third of the Sunday figure. On the other side, Saturday witnessed the highest rate of movie-goers, at 40%. After that, Monday, Saturday and Sunday saw a similar rise of roughly 5% in the proportion of visitors, which was followed by a mild drop of 3% in the figures for these three days in the final year. Notably, the attendance on Friday stood at 30% across three surveyed years, indicating the steady level of interest in cinema during this period.
In contrast, there was a downward trend in percentage of attendance on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Remarkably, a constant decline in the number of movie-goers was witnessed on Wednesday, which declined from 15% in 2003 to less than 10% in 2007. On the other hand, the attendance on Tuesday began at 20%, which was 3% higher than that of Thursday. Both days witnessed a decrease of roughly 4% in the proportion of attendance. However, the figure for Thursday showed a significant resurgence to nearly 19% while a less significant rise of 2% was recorded on the remaining day.
