Overall, from the start to the end, price of bananas did not rise significantly. However, in some countries it underwent enormous fluctuations. The biggest change in price happened in Japan while the least was in France.
Japan is the country that experienced drastic changes in price. The price rose by $0.50 from 1996 to 2004. The biggest rise happened between 1998 to 1999, price increased from $2 to $3 afterwards dropping and fluctuating between $2 and $2.5, and dropping largely to $1.5, with a later rise to $2.5 in 2004. Moreover, this was almost similar to all countries. Conversely, France was the country in which the price of bananas barely changed, it decreased from $2 to $1.95 and experienced slight changes from 1999 to 2003.
In Germany, the price increased by $0,25 which is similar to the USA. This country had the biggest change from the start of 2000 to the end of 2003, prices rose from $1.25 to $2 and, at the end of the period, dropped to $1.75. The USA did not experience drastic changes, the price of bananas in this country rose once in 1998 from $1 to $1.25 and remained the same until the end.
