The line graph compares the participation rates in three different activities of a UK sports club from 1995 to 2015.
Overall, the proportion of people attending gym activities showed an upward trend, while the reverse was true for swimming. Moreover, the rates for team sports witnessed the lowest change in a level of participation.
As the graph shows, swimming initially was the highest sport participant, accounting for 50% members of the club. After that, this figure witnessed a plummet to under 20% in 2010 and remained stable to 2015. In contrast, despite standing at under 10%, the figure for gym activities increased steadily, climbing to approximately 25%, remaining the same as 2015.
Eventually, switching to the team sports, it stood at the second before leading the first spot through the surveyed period. After staying at over 30% for the first 5 years, the ratio of team sports grew up significantly, overcoming the swimming activities since 2003 and reaching a peak with 40% in 2010. However, the statistics were short-lived because it decreased and returned to its initial level at the end of the period.
