Overall, swimming experienced a noticeable decline in the rete of participants over a period of 15 years (1995-2010), while the opposite was true for gym activities. It is clear that the percentage of people taking part in team sports remained unchanged.
In 1995, the rate of participants in swimming was 50%. The figures for team sports and gym activities were relatively lower, at around 30% and 5%, respectively. The former witnessed an increase of about 10 % in the next 15 years, while there was a gradual growth in the figure for the latter from around 5% to approximately 25%. The percentage of people who took part in swimming fell noticeably from 50% to about 15% between 1995 and 2010.
In 2010, team sports experienced a decrease of 10% in the following 5 years, while gym activities and swimming remained unchanged approximately 25% and 15%, respectively.
