The line graph illustrates the amount of money invested in company shares, fine art, gold and property between 1988 and 2014.
Overall, there was an upward trend in all four investment funds. It is also clear that gold experienced the greatest growth.
In 1988, gold attracted the highest investments, at 100 million dollars, followed closely by the figure for Fine Art, at approximately 75 million dollars. Meanwhile, Property and Company Shares received comparatively lower investments, at 50 million dollars each. Moreover, gold and Fine Art investment funds hit their lowest points in 1992 and 1998 respectively, both at 50 million dollars. However, the figures then subsequently recovered and increased steadily in the following years. While the year 1996 witnessed a significant surge in the amount of money which Company Shares obtained from investments, becoming the most heavily invested funds, a more gradual trend could be observed in that of Property throughout the period.
There was a dramatic climb in the money acquired by Gold, which soon peaked at 450 million dollars in 2012 and fell slightly to about 375 million dollars by the end of the period. Whereas having some fluctuations from 1998 to 2006, the statistics for Fine Art rose considerably to 350 million dollars in 2014. Lastly, the allocation of funds for Company Shares and Property ended the period at an amount of 250 and roughly 200 million dollars respectively.
