Overall, Sweden showed the highest retirement ages for both men and women, while France had the lowest figures. In general, other countries showed little change or no change during the period.
In 2004, average retirement age of men in Denmark was 60 then, it increased slightly to 61 in 2008. France also increased from 58 to 59 in 2008. However, Italy remained unchanged around 60 years old in both years. Netherlands reached from 62 to 63. Sweden had the largest retirement age of males from 63 to 64, whereas UK grew up from 61 to 62.
Average retirement age of females in Denmark reached from 59 to 61. France stayed similar in both years about 58 years old. Italy displayed small change from 58 to 59 in 2008. Netherlands and Sweden also were the highest figure in 2004 and 2008. Netherlands rose significantly from 61 to 62 and Sweden rose from 63 to 64. UK went up from 60 to 61.
