The line chart expressed how much money was spent on three regions protecting the crops while the bar graph showed how these places were affected by floods, insects and fires the year 2005.
Overall, it was clear to see that among the three areas, Australia was the only one that showed a large increase in the amount of money spent. Eventhough Europe started strong, it slowly went down. Additionally, despite the slight growth on the expenses in Africa, it remained at the bottom.Regarding the bar, Australia suffered a lot because of fires while Europe’s main issue is flooding, however this is the least problem for Africa which is greatly affected by insects.
The line graph explained that at the first quarter of the year, Europe spent the largest money peotecting its crops amounting 800 million dollars. Though it was still on lead for the next quarter, it expressed a decrease in number for about 200 million dollars and finally equalled to Australia in July to September at 600 million dollars. The latter though initially had a little under 600 million, the expenses became half the next timeline but started to build up then peaked at around 900 million dollars at the end of the year. Africa spent the least amount of money safeguarding its crops at a little over 200 million, then grew its expenses gradually but stayed on the same amount at 400 million on the last two quarters of the year.
The bar graph explained that Australia was highly damaged by fires, affecting more than 800 hectares land. Europe’s main problem was flooding with 700 hectares of land affected followed by insects that was only under 600. It was least affected by fires with only around 200 hectares. Africa was devastated by insects and floods with almosy similar damage of land area, accounting to around 700 to 600 respectively. On the contrary, floods’ damaged to Africa marked as the smallest with just approximately 100 hectares.
