The line graphs illustrate the information of addmissions of overseas students and local students in Australian universities from 2001 to 2010. The graphs present the data of students who commenced the studies and total number on admissions.

To begin with, the number of overseas students who commence their studies in 2001 was less than 20,000, whereas this number rose gradually and reached to its peak with 40,000 students in 2010. On the contrary, the proportion of international students in total was begin with 20,000 in 2001, and increased to 80,000 in 2010.

Conversingly, less than 20,000 local students had their addmission in 2001 in universities, while this number increased in the next year in 2002, but gradually declined and reached to 20,000 in 2010. Furthermore, total number of local students in universities started at 40,000 and increased to 60,000 until 2006, and after that this number was stable until 2010.

Overall, it was notable that the figure for international students was higher than local students, in 2010, international students accounted with 80,000 addmissions in total while local students were at 60,000.
