Overall, the percentage of all released films was much higher in 2000 than that of in 1996, except for romance films which showed a parity in both years. This figure was also true for the cinema ticket sales, apart from the proportion of romance cinema in 1996 which was slightly higher than that of in 2000, with comedy cinema ticket sales showing the most percentage in terms of ticket sales.
There was a small disparity in the percentage of released films in 1996 and 2000, with the proportion of drama accounting for just above quarter of the films, about 10% less than that of in 2000. This figure was true for Comedy and Fantasy, albeit at lower percentages. The former showed 25%, while the latter constituted at 15% in 1996, 5% more than in 2000. Regarding Romance, its production was lower than other listed films, hovering at only 5%.
There was not a huge difference in the percentages of cinema ticket sales, with drama and comedy ticket sales reaching around 16% and 23% in 2000, up from 15% and 20% in 1996, respectively. The percentage of ticket sales of fantasy cinema was approximately 7% in 2000, double the tpercetage of 1996. Regarding romance cinema, its ticket sales was much less, settling at below 5% in both years, with a dominance of the proportion of ticket sales in 1996.
