Overall, it can be clearly seen that drama films had the highest proportion of projects among the film categories, while romance film ranged the lowest production in both years. In terms of the amount of sales, comedy was the most popular film, whereas both fantasy and romance showed a small figure of sales, compared to both years.
Beginning with the production of movies in 1996, the drama films showed at just above 15%, which was the most percentages throughout the years. Meanwhile, other types of movies, including comedies, fantasies, and romances, ranged with 20%, approximately 12%, and just over 5%, respectively. In terms of 2006’s productions, all categories in 2006 had a higher percentage than the films in 1996, with 35%, 25%, and just over 5%, respectively. However, particularly in the figures of romances had an equal proportion as the figures in 2006.
Moving on to the number of ticket sales, compared to the previous two years, the dramas accounted for about 16% in 1996, before rising minimally to around 17% in the next decade. Notably, the comedies showed at 20% in 1996, and then increased moderately to about 23% in 2006. Following this, the fantasies presented with small proportions, at about 3% in 1996, before increasing slightly to 7% in 2006. In contrast, only the romances, the figures in 2006 had a higher level than in 1996, with 5% and 3%.
