Overall, the number obese men and women increased, albeit in various degress. Similarly, the number of children with obesity problems experienced upward trends, regardless of their gender. It is also clear that adults showed higher figures of obesity compared to their younger counterparts.
Regarding the adult participants, they suffered from obesity more often. Having shown just over four millions in 2003, the number of obese men witnessed a significant rise to just under seven millions in 2010. The figure for women with obesity issues, which accounted for just under five millions, it grew noticeably to sharply six millions in 2010.
Likewise, the number of overweight children increased over the years. In 2003, just over 700,000 boys suffered from this health problem, which then rose negligibly to 800,000 by 2010. When it comes to girls, the figure for them started at just under 700,000 and showed growth by 200,000 over the following seven years.
