The two graphs compare information about visitors who visit for holiday and business from France and North America to the UK.
Overall, it is evident that holiday visits were more common than business visits. Holiday visitors from North America increased sharply and reached a peak in July to September, before falling significantly, while France experenced a gradual trend. In addition, business visits from North America had higher figures than France throughout the period.
Regarding holiday travel, a number of visitors from North America started at roughly 0.7 million and increased slightly to 0.8 million in January to March, before recorded a sharp rise to around 2.4 million in April to June, and reached a peak of about 3 million between July and September. It then dropped significantly to around 0.7 million in the final period. In contrast, the figure for France remained relatively stable, increasing gradually from about 0.8 mllion to a peak of 1.5 million in July to September before declining to approximately 0.8 million by the end of the year.
Turning to business visits, both figures were much lower. The number of visitors from North America increased from about 0.15 millon to 0.30 million between the first and third periods, before declining to around 0.20 million in July to September, and it then rose to about 0.33 million in the final period. Meanwhile, business visits from France rose from roughly 0.05 mllion to 0.20 million by April to June, and it fell to about 0.11 million in July to Septermber. Finally, It climbed to around 0.20 million, before dropping to about 0.14 million.
