The bar charts compare how much time per day that individuals participated in two specific activities for entertainment purposes at different age ranges in New Zealand.
Overall, it is clear tha time for listening to music was higher significantly than that of reading except the age group of 35 to 44. In addition, the average minutes spent on reading peaked in middle age, while the figure for listening to music was recorded the highest in young age.
There was an upward trend in the volume amount of time per day for reading for pleasure. From 15 to 24, the data for reading was the lowest, at only 20 minutes per day before reaching a peak of 70 minutes per day at the age group of 55 to onwards.
By constrast, the total minutes for listening to music saw a different pattern. The figure for enjoining music achieved the highest point of 80 minutes per day at the age range of 15 to 24 before dropping considerably to around 45 minutes per day at the age group of 35 to 44. Although the data soared sharply to roughly 75 minutes per day at the age range of 55 to overs, the total time spent on listening to music was lower compared to the young age group. From 35 to 44, the time for both activities were nearly equal.
