Overall, it is clear that, food was about the half part of the income, however, cars then took its place.
In 1971, the money people spent on computers was only two percent, however, it increased by 10% in 2001 with 12%. Similarly, the income spent on restaurants and cars in 1971 was 7 and 22 percent, in 2001 it increased two-fold with 14% and 43% respectively.
In 1971, the 44% of total income was spent on food, however, it decreased to 14% in 2001. Books and furniture were the little part of the total income in 1971 with 6% and 9%, then it dropped to 1% and 8% in the year 2001 respectivly. In 1971, petrol accounted for 10% of the expenditure, however it fell to 8% in 2001.
