The line graphs illustrate the number of licensed cars between 1982 and 2006 and household access to cars between 1985 and 2005 years in a particular country (Britain). Units are measured in millions and percentages.
Overall, the number of licensed cars in the UK soared; the percentage of households with no car remained flat, whilst the percentage with one car plummeted and those with two or more cars increased dramatically.
Taking the number of licensed cars into consideration, it can be seen that the trend of the graph was increasing during the given period. In 1982, there were approximately 15 million cars; the number of cars had increased dramatically by 1990, in 1990 there were exactly 20 million cars. Indeed, the trend did not stop rising and hit a peak in 2006 when number of licensed cars in England was higher than 25.
The percentage of households with no cars remained the same during the given years. It should be noticed that households with one car dipped between 1985 and 1987; furthermore, its trend started declining and had decreased significantly by 2005 (around 25%). Households with two or more cars, however, increased dramatically and reached their maximum in 2005 just above 30%.
