The pie charts compare the consumption of macronutrients in three different diets: the average diet, the healthy diet, and the healthy diet for sports.
It is noticeable that carbohydrates are the most consumed macronutrient overall, whereas fat has the lowest proportion among the given diets. Moreover, the healthy diet for sports includes the highest amount of carbohydrates but the lowest amount of fat compared to the other two diets.
Firstly, athletes’ carbohydrate intake in their selected healthy diet accounts for 60%. The percentage of carbohydrates in a healthy diet and an average diet is relatively lower, at 40% and 50%, respectively. In contrast, the proportion of fat in the average diet and the healthy diet is exactly the same (30%), while athletes following the healthy diet for sports consume only 15% fat.
In terms of protein, those following an average diet require the highest amount, at 40%. This is 10% higher than the proportion of protein in a healthy diet and 15% more than in the healthy diet for sports.
