The line graph illustrates the pattern of vacancies in three different sectors ( manufacturing, services and agriculture) from 1975 to 1982, as well as predictions for 2025.
Overall, the number of employment in agriculture experienced a downward tendency while the reverse was true for services. In addition, job vacancies in manufacturing remained stable despite showing some increases in the middle of the period.
Focusing on the increases firstly, the number of employment in manufacturing and services showed somewhat similar increases until 1980. Starting at about 10 millions, both sectors saw a steady increase in their employment rates, reaching at around 40 millions in 1980. After that, the figure for services surpassed that of agricultural workers, and it is expected to reach at the high of roughly 90 millions of people in 2025. Unlike this, the figure for employment of manufacturing declined sharply, and it is likely to to complete at around one out of ten millions in 2025.
When it comes to the decreases then, employment figures for agriculture was the highest in initial years, including 80 millions of employees between 1975 and 1977 and followed by the considerable fall, and it will be finishing at 10 millions in 2025.
