The graph illustrates the trends of employment in Manufacturing, services, and agriculture in the USA, and also shows the prediction to the future.
Overall, in the beginning of the period, agriculture had by far the largest figure, while manufacturing and services were the lowest ones. In contrast, at the end of the period, services were the greatest sector, whereas agriculture faced a dramatic decline. Additionally, manufacturing experienced a slight rise.
To begin with, in 1970 agriculture stood approximately at 80, which was the highest level among others. It remained stable until it dramatically decreased in 1977, about 40. Agriculture continued to fall until it reached the lowest point, roughly 10 in 2025. If we look at manufacturing, it slightly rose for over 2 years, where then dramatically increased. However, it instantly faced a significant decrease in 1982. For the following 43-year period, manufacturing gradually declined to over 10.
Looking at services, in 1975 it was the lowest one. It gradually rose until 1979, after where it skyrocketed under 90 for over 5 decades. Services became the greatest level at the end of the period.
