The diagram provides data on the number of global carbon emissions in four different states from 1990 to 2025.
Overall, a consistent upward trend is evident in China. Nevertheless, there was also two places, that witnessed a slight decrease, were the United States and European Union.
The most dramatic rise occured in China, where figures significantly climbed from 2.5 tonnes in 1990 to 11.0 tonnes in 2025. It is evident that the most rapid increase was in the first half of the given period. Furthermore, the country, which registered the modest growth rate, is India (from 0 to 3.5 tonnes respectively).
The downward trend is evident accross the United States and European Union. In the Unites States, the numbers steadily grew from 5.0 to 6.0 tonnes until the end of the first half of the diagram. Following this, they substantially plummeted 4.5 tonnes in 2025. In contrast, in European Union the growths’ duration was much shorter than in the previous country (from 4.0 to 4.5 tonnes in approximately 5 years). Afterwards, the figures of carbon emissions experienced a sharp decrease from 4.5 to 3.0 in 2025.
