The line graph illustrates data about the differences between the amount and type of unhealthy food consumed by young individuals in Australia over a twenty five-year period from 1975 to 2000.
Overall, as can be seen from the graph, pizzas and hamburgers’ numbers of consumption experienced upward trends, whilst fish and chips usage saw a dramatic decline. Another certain point to mention is that the consumption of fish and chips was the highest point at the beginning, but at the end it plummeted to its lowest.
With regards to upward trends, the consumption of hamburgers started at around 10 in 1975 and then increased considerably to just over 80 in 1985, before growing gradually, reaching approximately 100 at the last year observed. Similarly, the number of pizza usage began at almost 5 at the beginning, which was a low of the whole period. After that figure witnessed steady growth, peaking at just above 80 in 1995, after which it leveled off until the end.
On the other hand, the consumption of fish and chips went with the opposite direction. The figure started at 100, which was the highest point, before experiencing a fluctuation until 1985, reaching slightly under 90. Then the usage of fish and chips fell gradually until the end of the period in question, reaching approximately 40.
