The provided line graph shows the percentage of rice export from Thailand to four different Asian nations – China, Japan, Korea and India – over a span of 25 years from 1995 to 2020.
Overall, it can be observed, that in 1995, China had the lowest percentage, however rose dramatically over the period, becoming export-leader, following by Japan, Korea and India.
At the outset, Korea, India and China had their percentage below 10%, while Japan was significantly dominating with 25% of Thailand’s rice. However in 10 years the situation has changed. After a little decline by 6% in 2005, Korea culminated in a peak of 15% and was only 3-4% below Japan in 2005. China increased their export more than two times. In contrast, India had very constant plateau at 7%.
In another 15 years, Korea showed dip in 2010 with plateau at 5% and a slight downward to 2%. Japan’s results were also constant, remaining around 17% until 2020. As for India, its export roughly doubled from 7% to 15% in 2005, however declined by 3% in 2020. While all the other countries mainly lowed their positions, China demonstrated stable and sharp increase throughout the period, rising from around 12% in 2005 to 30% in 2020.
