The line graph displays the number of international students enrolled at De Salle University from five countries – India, Vietnam, Nepal, Indonesia, and Colombia – between 1980 and 2020. Overall, while the number of students from all five countries showed an upward trend, Indian students consistently constituted the largest group, while Colombian students remained the smallest throughout the period.
Between 1980 and 1990, student numbers from all five countries remained relatively stable, fluctuating within a narrow range. However, from 2000 onwards, a significant increase was observed across the board. The number of Indian students, in particular, experienced a dramatic rise, increasing from approximately 5000 in 2000 to 15000 by 2020.
The number of students from Vietnam, Nepal, and Indonesia showed a similar pattern of growth, though with some variation. Around the year 2000, each country had over 2000 students enrolled. While all three countries experienced consistent growth until 2020, Vietnam saw the highest peak at approximately 10,000 students, while Indonesia had the lowest, at around 7500.
Throughout the period, Colombian students consistently represented the smallest group. While there was some fluctuation, their numbers remained relatively low, culminating at approximately 1500 by 2020. A more detailed analysis of the growth pattern would be useful for a more complete picture.
