Overall,, it is immediately apparent that adventure and history experienced the most significant growth, whereas, romance and sci-fi showed a noticeable decline throughout out period, although horror surpassed sci-fi and adventure.
Turning to the details, adventure started at 300 million in 2005 and rose sharply, reaching around 350 million in 2008. This upward trend continued, as the figure peaked at roughly 400 million by 2012. In contrast, sci-fi began at about 200 million in 2005 and experienced a gradual downward trend, falling to approximately 100 million by 2012.
Regarding remaining types of movies, horror stood at around 100 million in 2005 and underwent moderate increase during the following years. However, from 2008 onwards, it surged dramatically, eventually reaching approximately 400 million by 2012. Similarly, romance commenced at roughly 70 million in 2005 and flucutated slightly during the first half of the period, before declining marginally towards the end. By 2012, the figure for romance stabilized at around 50 million.
It is also noteworthy that horror overtook sci-fi and adventure in 2006 and 2011.
