From 1990 to 1995, there was a sharp escalation and over 150,000 hectares was used in both countries for organic agriculture. After 1995, the figure for country A continued to grow and reached a peak of 280,000 hectares. The country B showed only a moderate increase in the land used for organic farming. After 2000, however, both countries showed a minimal decrease in organic farming. From 2005 to 2010, the decreasing trend continued in both countries, but the fall was more marked in country A and the arable land for organic crops fell to 150,000 hectares each in both countries.
Overall, the area for organic crops increased till 2000, but after that the popularity of organic farming decreased.
