Overall, it can be seen that the trend rose significantly over the period. Germany accounted for the highest percentage and will remain the largest in the future. The proportion of elderly in Canada was the lowest among three, until it surpassed the UK and continued to rose by the end of the year.
The proportion of elderly in Germany was seen as the highest with 14% in 1980 and increased slighty to 15% in 1990 and by 2030 it is predicted to reach around 24%, respectively.
In terms of the second largest proportion of aged 65 to above, the UK started with one in ten percent , followed by Canada with one in twenty percent ,before it converged together in 2015. However, in 2015, the percentage of Canada surpassed the UK and continued to rise until it reached 23% by 2030. The proportion in the UK will reach around a fifth by the final year.
