The line graph illustrates the proportion of expenditures in a European region during the period from 1960 to 2000.
Overall, all sections’ percentages, except for clothing, saw a significant decline. Additionally, the food section witnessed the most considerable and abrupt drop, while other sections’ percentages fell gradually.
In detail, it can be clearly seen that at the beginning of the period, the percentage of spending on food was the highest, at approximately 33%, but at the end of the period its proportion plunged to 15%. Moving on to the clothing section, its percentage of roughly 8% was slightly lower than the transport section, which accounted for the tenth part of overall spending. However, by the end of the period, the clothing section became the leader in expenditures and comprised 17% of the overall, while the energy section plateaued during the entire period and made up the most negligible part, at 2%, in 2000.
