The line graph demonstrates the proportion of expenses: Food, leisure, clothing, transport, and energy in a European nation from 1960 to 2000.
Overall, it is evident that most of the spending was on food throughout the period. However, in the year 2000, the percentage of investment in transport peaked.
Regarding the downward trend, in 1960, people spent more on food and leisure time, but mostly on food, with more than 30%, while leisure witnessed a lower share at 20%. After this, the percentage of spending on leisure had a slight fall to 12% in the last year, while the figure for food decreased significantly and reached a lower point at 14%.
Concerning the remaining groups, both clothing and energy had their percentage of the spending start at 5% and 10% in the initial year, respectively. In the next few years, the share for these two spending had a modest fall, and clothing remained at 5% but energy fell to the lowest point at 2%. Noticeably, transport held the largest share at 15% at the end of the period after having a start at under 10%.
