The line graph illustrates changes in recycling rate for four different materials from 1982 to 2010 in a specific country. The x-axis indicates years, while the y-axis represents the recycling rate measured in per cent. Each type of recycled product is shown in different colours.
Overall, the number of recycling increased from 1982 to 2010 in all 4 types of recycled categories. Specifically, aluminum cans that were recycled increased gradually and similarly, the recycling rate of plastics grew gently. However, both paper, cardboard and glass containers denote fluctuating trends in recycling rates.
In particular, the recycling rate of paper and cardboard hit a high of 80 percent in 1994. Then, it decreased slowly to 70 percent in 2010. In contrast, the rate of glass containers significantly increased after reaching a peak of 50 percent in 1994 to 60 percent in 2010. Noticeably, the proportion of aluminum cans that were recycled was the least among the four types in 1986, with just about 4%. However, the rate rose 11 times to around 44% in 2010.
