The two charts illustrate the overall employment rate in 2009, together with the contributions of five industries to the country’s economy from 2005 and 2009.
Overall, it is clear that the services sector accounted for the highest percentages in both employment rate and economic contributions, while agriculture recorded the lowest share in both categories.
According to the pie chart, 57.5% of workfore participation rate came from services, followed by 13.1% showed by construction. A proportion of 12.9% of the workforce was employed in manufacturing and mining recorded an employment figure at 10.0%. Agriculture registered the lowest figure, with just 5.9%.
In terms of sectors’ contributions to the nations’ economy, the services sector had a significant role throughout the period given, accounting for approximately 45% in the initial year and reaching a peak at roughly 48%. Construction increased slightly by around 1%, whereas there was aslso a marginal decrease of about 1% in the manufacturing and agriculture sectors, which agriculture being the smallest contributor. There was no fluctuation in mining, which remained unchanged, standing at nearly 8%.
