The line graph compares three countries in terms of the amount of immigration to these countries between 1990 and 2001.
Overall, it is clear that Canada saw a small increase in the number of immigrants who immigrated to this country, while the immigration to other countries remained relatively the same or decreased significantly.
During the 11-year period, a significant decrease can be seen in the annual immigration to the USA, from under 1,400,000 to just over 900,000. By contrast, the figure for immigration to Canada rose slightly, from under 200,000 to just over 450,000 immigrants. Furthermore, the annual number of immigrants who immigrated to Australia stayed the same, approximately 100,000 people.
Looking at the line graph in more detail, the amount of human mobility to the USA fluctuated considerably, approximately 500,000 foreign residents. Also, the migration of settlers to Canada rose marginally, around 250,000 foreign residents.
