The graph illustrates the average number of houses built by single-family homes in four places such as Northeast, Midwest, South, and West from 2006 to 2012. In a glimpse, the proportion in four areas experienced downward trends throughout the period.
Initially, the South was reported the highest at 900,000 homes, followed by the West at 450,000 homes, the Midwest 290,000 homes and the Northeast at 180,000 homes in 2006. The south decreased significantly to 450,000 homes in 2008 and then it dipped in 2010 and it recovered back to 320,000 homes in 2012. In 2008, there was a significant decrease to 2000 homes among the West. then it reported a slight decline through two periods and it plummeted at 150,000 homes.
In addition, single-family houses in the Midwest from 2006 to 2008 fell by 90,000 homes. It dropped rapidly for two periods to 100,000 homes. The northeast experienced a slight fall over all the period to 50,000 homes in 2012.
