The line graph illustrates the different age groups’ cinema visitation in a period from 1978 to 2008. The measurement is taken in percentage.
Overall, there are 4 age groups and, it is clear, that the cinema is the most popular pastime among young people and the less interesting for the the older generation. It can be seen that the cinema is visited the most by the people of ages from 14 to 24. However, there are some fluctuations between 1978 and 1998, and the visitation declined by 10 per cent by 2008. In its turn, only 40 per cent of the oldest part of society visited the cinema in 1978, but from 1998 there was slight growth and the visitation rose by 10 per cent by 2008. In comparison with other age groups, only the visitation of the older people experienced the rising trend, going to the cinema of the others decreased over the three decades.
Individuals of ages from 25 to 34 liked to spend time in the cinema in 1978, but the visitation collapsed by 20 per cent in 10 years. From 1988 it started rising slowly and there were not significant changes by 2008. The percentage of the people from 35 to 49, the middle age group, was 60 per cent at the start of the period and it fell by one third in only 10 years, but it returned to the same percentage as it was in the beginning by 1998.
