Speaking of younger population, people aged 14-24 were in the cinema the most, starting at 90 percent in 1978, reaching their lowest point of around 76 percent in 1988, and sporadically reaching 80 percent in 2008. Those at the age of 25-34 showed a more dramatic decline between 1978 and 1988, dropping from 80 to 60 percent, but eventually reaching around 65 percent at the end of the period.
Cinema visitors at the age of 35-49 and 50+ started off at 60 and 40 percent, respectively. Although their percentage fell rapidly to 40 and 20 percent in 1988, it swiftly rose to slightly above 60 and 40 percent, accordingly. The number of those visitors remained relatively the same in 2003, but reached the joint-lowest of around 50 percent in 2008.
