The given linegraph illustrates the percentage of overweight in population by 4 different age groups from 1971 to 2005. The age groups were 18-29, 30-44, 45-64 and 65-74.
Overall, the data indicates a relatively increased trend in all four age groups. The highest percentage of age group was 45 to 65, despite the least overweight group was 18-29 years old over the period.
With regards to 18-29 age group, obesity percentage, starting at around 6% from 1971 to 1976, it constantly increasing to little over 25% by 2005. For age group 30-44 demonstrated variations in trend, it was 15% the first 5 years and doubled in 1999. And then declined slightly to 29 and rose again and peaked at 36 by the end of the period. The most overweight group was 45-64 years old, it observed 17% relatively same level as the seniors group at the first 5 years of period and both increased to 39% by 1999. After that, the seniors group gradually dropped to 35%, while 45-64 age group was sharply increased peaked at over 40% by the end of the period.
