The line graph illustrates the proportion of trips used for different types of transport in two different periods in a nation, measured in percentages.
Overall, car trips showed a strong upward trend while bus trips decreased dramatically. Other transport showed fluctuations throughout the period.
Firstly, car trips accounted for 25%, which then rose sharply to 80% by 2000, making it the dominant mode of travelling in transport. In contrast, bus and other trips remained relatively stable, dropping and increasing slightly between 1995 to 2015.
On the other hand, bus trips saw a significant decrease, falling from 60% to 10% over the period. The most interesting feature was that all transport showed a similar proportion of trips (around 10%) in the year 2000, expect car trips. Moreover, rail and others trips fluctuated throughout the period.
