The line graph illustrates the exported revenue of clothing from Bangladesh in the period between 1988 and 2012. The pie chart gives information about the total export earnings from clothing in different countries in the European Union, the USA, Canada, Japan, Turkey and others in 2012.
Overall, what stands out from the line graph is that the amount of money generated from clothing exports witnessed a significant rise throughout the period given. As for the main feature in the pie chart, the European Union was by far the most exported from Bangladesh, while the opposite pattern was true for Japan.
The value of clothing exported from Bangladesh began at just around $US 2 billion, after which it rose gradually to more than $US 5 billion in 2004. The figure then recorded a sharp change, increasing to $US 20 billion at the end of the period.
In 2012, it is noticeable that the European Union accounted for the largest amount of clothing export at 60% at $US 11.38 billion, followed by the USA, which was nearly one-third of the figure for the European Union, at $US 4.53 billion. Canada and other countries made up for 8% at $US 1.55 billion and 5% at $US 0.87 billion, respectively. Meanwhile Japan and Turkey with the respective figures being 2% at $US 0.4 billion and 1% at $US 0.36 billion, sharing the lowest clothing exported revenue in 2012.
