Overall, Mexico records the highest willigness to eat insect produts, whereas Japan is the lowest comsumer. In addition, the prices for insects-based products are more than the meat-based products.
To begin with, Mexico accounts for about 71 per cent , which is the highest wiligness to eat insect products than other countries. Both Peru and Thailand represent quite similar precentages to eat about 58% and 56 % respectively, exceeding that of the other remaining countries. By contrast, Japan has the lowest share of willingness to use insect products about 21 per cent, which is far lower than the other countries.
In terms of the price for different foods available on the market, insect products are considerably higher than the meat and rice categories. Weaver Ant is the most expensive food( 10.65 usd) than the other foods, roughly two times as much as the buffalo price ( 2.38).
