The given maps compare the differences in layout of a bookstore between the year 2000 and present. Overall, the store has shifted from a predomiantly ordinary and book-based business to a more convenient shop with customer areas. The key changes including the relocation of bookshelves, the introductions of new tables and cafe area.
In 2000, the whole southern edge of the shop was dominated by the fiction section, which also ocupied the upper-right corner. The entrance-facing consisted of the travel-related section and the news books shelves. To the west of this area were three adjacent shelves, namely art, hobbies and cookery sections. Finally, the service desk was at the lower-east corner of the room, whereas the non-fiction book shelf was near it, on the mid-north side.
In the present, the non-fiction has been relocated to the south-west corner, which has taken place of that of fiction section, while its old area has offered for a new cafe area. Simultaneously, the tripple ontiguous shelves have been replaced the left-side of the fiction section, leaving only a small space left for fiction between them and the non-fiction. Utimately, in the central of the bookstore now has the space for the tables for customer-service, while everything else have been the same.
