First, let’s consider the main areas of the zoo, located on the left side of the map, occupying two-thirds of the width and height. Two new entrances have been built in both the front and sea-facing areas of the zoo. Initially, animals from the continents were placed on the left side of the zoo in 1960, but later, the African animals were moved to the area behind the gift shop in exchange for new wildlife enclosures. The seal show area was moved near the old harbor, while the bird and chimpanzee area was removed.
To the right of the zoo, perhaps the most noticeable change is the upgraded gift shop with new flooring and a more appealing look. Even more interestingly, a new cable car has been installed, connecting the gift shop to the waterfront area.
