The maps compare the layout of a zoo in Australia from 1960 to the present days.
Overall, the zoo has undergone a significant change with the introduction of some transportations and recreational facilities, replacing the former ones while several areas have remained unchanged throughout the period.
Regarding the north of the maps, the harbour was located in the northeast in 1960; however, now it has been relocated to the northwest. Moreover, there is a new addition of a Ferry and an entrance in the north of the map these days. The picnic area which was situated in the east, stayed the same spot through the given period whereas the cable car has been constructed to the west of the picnic area for transportation.
Birds, Seal Show and Chimpanzees previously occupied at the centre of the maps in 1960. Now, birds and chimpanzees have been removed to make room for Africa animals area by contrast the seal show has been transferred a little bit downing to the south. At the south of the maps, the gift shop has no change its original location, upgrading to 2nd floor which is near by a new another entrance with the road link to the sea. In the west, the African animals sector was located above the Australia animals but then African animals has been returned into the wild animals area while Australian animals has remained in their location, having the road leading to the seal show.
