The maps depict the transformstion of Frenton over the period from 1990 to 2012.
Overall, the area underwent extensive modification, with the most noticeable changes involving replacement of facilities. While several new facilities were introduced and existing structures were redeveloped, some features remaining largely unchanged.
Turning to the western part of the area, halfed by the high street, hospital was expanded over the 22 years. Located adjacement to hospital, playing field with trees and bank were replaced by blocks of flats and restaurant, while library and school remained unchanged. Additionally, trees that located at the southwest corner of the map gave the way to technopark.
Regarding the eastern side, substantial redevelopment occured, with houses, theatre and shops. They was converted into blocks of flats, cinema and supermarket. Cafes and park experienced dramatic transformation which made way to hotel and golf course. In contrast, flat was constructed at the western edge of the blocks of flats.
