Overall, the area has undergone notable transformation, with the elimination of a shop, a fish market, a forest park, farmland, and a fishing port, along with the introduction of a car park, a golf club, an outdoor tennis area, a restaurant, houses, and apartments. Additionally, the rest of the key features, such as a hotel, a cafe, and the sea, have remained largely untouched.
In the past, the village of Ryemouth lacked basic public facilities. The farmland and forest park were situated on the eastern side of the village, while in the western section of the village, a line of houses was placed. In the southern part of the village, the shopping buildings were located in close proximity to the road, whereas on the opposite side of the road, the fishing markets were positioned. In the southern part of the village, the hotel was situated adjacent to the road, while across the road, there was a cafe. Finally, the fishing port was positioned in the south section of the village, bordering the sea.
Fast forward to 2026, the number of houses, which was set on the western side of the village, was increased, while the addition of farmland and the forest park, which were located on the eastern side of the village, came at the expense of the former golf club and an outdoor tennis area. On the south side of the village, where the shopping buildings that were placed adjacent to the road once stood, there are now restaurants. And the fishing buildings, which were on the opposite side of the shopping buildings, were rebuilt into apartments. The new car park was constructed next to the hotel, while the fishing port, which was in the south section of the village, broke down.
