The maps illustrate the changes that have taken place in the village of Ryemouth between 1995 and the present day. Overall, the area has undergone significant development, with several recreational and residential facilities added, while some older features, such as the fishing port and farmland, have been removed.
In the northeast of the village, the farmland that existed in 1995 has been completely replaced by a golf course. Similarly, the forest park located just south of this area has been cleared, and two tennis courts have been constructed in its place. To the south of the village, a car park has been added next to the hotel, providing additional convenience for visitors.
The most striking changes occurred along the coastline. The fishing port that was previously located in the sea has been entirely removed. In addition, the fish market along the shore has been demolished and replaced by four modern apartment buildings. Directly opposite these apartments, a shop that once stood has been converted into a restaurant. The café near the sea has remained unchanged.
Meanwhile, in the western part of the map, the housing area has been expanded, with two new houses added to the existing residential zone.
