The two maps demonstrate a notable urbanization of the Ryemouth village from the year 1995 to the present day. Overall, the village depending on fishing and agriculture has experienced a radical transformation to a tourism center, with the introduction of new facilities: golf and tennis area.
In 1995, the Ryemouth village positioned two main roads: one from the northwest to the southeast and the remaining running along the coast, from west to east. While the densely populated area was on two sides of the former road, another cluster of 4 houses was situated independently to the southern section. Whereas, a farmland and public forest were located at the northeastern corner. To the southern zone was space for the fishing industry, with a fishing port and fish market opposite a line of shops. In the intersection of two avenues, there was a hotel on the northern, directly facing a cafe.
Regarding the present layout, while the residential area in the north remained unchanged, a road was established to connec the independent housing zone and two new houses with the main road. At the same time, the farm and forest park have been removed to pave the way for the development of golf section and tennis courts. To the south, the most substantial change occured in the destruction of the fishing port. Therefore, the market and shop were also renovated to become apartments and nearby restaurants. Finally, the hotel and cafe remained relatively untouched, with just a parking space built adjacently to the hotel.
