On the map we can see the world’s willingness to eat insects.
Mexico has the biggest willingness. Only 29% of Mexicans don’t want to eat insect-based products. The next countries are Peru and Thailand. They have the same results. 58% of population can eat insects without any problems and 42% don’t have a wish to do that. India also has a big willingness. 56% of people are ready to eat this type of food there. Australia is in the mid. It has 50% willingness and 50% unwillingness.
Brazil and Russia have similar percentages. 43-44% people would eat these foods, and 57-58% people would not. In the Europe countries the results aren’t different. 30% in the UK, 35% in Spain, 27% in France and 26% in Italy don’t mind eating insect-based products. Most Europeans aren’t ready to eat insects with pleasure. In the USA 65% don’t want these products. In China only 28% taste insect-based products with pleasure. The lowest willingness has Japan. In this country 79% people don’t enjoy insects.
