The maps depict the transformation of a village park over the past decade, highlighting significant changes in its layout and facilities.
Overall, while the fundamental structure of the park remains intact, various enhancements and functional upgrades have been implemented, resulting in a more versatile recreational space.
A decade ago, the park was characterized by a central football pitch, with its entrance located in the northwest. Adjacent to the football pitch, there was a squash court intended for two players and a children’s play area positioned near the tennis courts. The car park, accommodating 20 vehicles, was situated parallel to the children’s play area. The landscape also featured a pond and woodland area, enhancing the park’s natural appeal.
Presently, the park retains the football pitch in its original location. Notably, the number of tennis courts has increased from two to four, expanding available sporting facilities. The car park has also undergone significant development, now hosting up to 50 cars. In addition, several new amenities have been introduced, such as a picnic area, a boating lake, a café, and toilets, which collectively contribute to an enhanced visitor experience. It is important to note that the pond and wooded sections have been replaced by these modern facilities, indicating a shift towards more structured recreational opportunities.
