Overall, it is evident that the area has undergone a complete transformation, with tourism-related improvements such as several holiday buildings, recreational amenities and leisure yachts. These shifts turn Ryemouth village into a leisure – oriented destination, making it more attractive to visitors.
In 1995, the top northeast corner contained an open farmland, and a public park occupied by mature trees. Adjoining the park was a two-block hotel. To the northwest, there were two rows of housing next to the sports centre, while the fish market was located at the bottom southwest corner, which was adjacent to the coffee shop. At the bottom of the map, there were some morning fish boats situated beside the small port.
Today, the former farmland has been replaced by a golf course and a tennis course, enhancing sport facilities. Additionally, the old park has been removed in order to make room for a cluster of holiday accommodations, while the two-block hotel has been extended in size with the introduction of a car park at the eastern edge. At the housing zone in the northwest, residential buildings have increased, and the sport centre is substituted for a chain of restaurants, which accommodate the demand of foods and beverages of the village. Similarly, the fish market is transformed into a group of apartments, which is next to the prior coffee shop. Ultimately, the morning fish boats have been repurposed into pleasure yachts, improving entertainment.
