The maps compare the changes that have taken place in Frenton between 1990 and the present day. Overall, the Frenton used to have large greenery areas and a bank. However, after the reconstruction, the area has undergone significant changes, with the introduction of several entertainment and living facilities for residents. Notably, most of the greenery spaces have disappeared.
In 1990, there was a road was called High Street which halfed the city into two symmetrical areas. There was playing fields with trees, near which is a school. The shops were situated in the southern right-corner. The houses occupied the right side of the town, near which is a cafe and park zone. There was a tree-park from the south-west, with a library on the top of the park and the bank and hospital located under the school.
As for the town’s current layout, several notable makeovers have been made. Most significantly, new technopark facility has been constructed. Where the theatre and the shops stood, there is now cinema and supermarket, respectively. The size of the hospital has been expanded. While the school and the library remained intact, the bank made way for a restaurant. The place where new flat blocks has been introduced previously occupied by green-playing field and the houses. In addition, a new flat has been built, which resulted in the disappeareance of the garden.
