The picture delineates how a coal mining area changed after some noticeable upgrades.
Overall, it is readily apparent that this place has undergone significant developments in terms of the construction of various new amenities with a view to attracting more tourists.
Looking at the western part of the map ,there used to be an office and a staff changing room in the northwest, which were demolished and replaced with a museum. Underneath it was a construction of a car park, which still remained stagnant overtime. Additionally, in the middle of the picture, the medical room and lorry park were changed into a cafe and souvenir shop, respectively, while an entrance for underground mine for workers was repurposed in order to serve visitors.
Regarding the remaining site, it is noticeable that the digging driving track and the picnic area were added in the eastern region where the waste tip 1 and the waste tip 2 used to be situated. A striking point is that there was a new footpath for tourists, surrounding all of the cafe, souvenir shop, picnic area, and digger driving track. Finally, an installation of a children’s play area was located in the southeastern site at the bottom of the ground.
